Freelancers include all self-employed workers, except manual occupations (artisans, farmers, etc.) and excluding regulated professions (doctors, lawyers ...). Some examples of freelance profiles: graphic designer, editor, consultant, coach, photographer, computer scientist, etc.


"Freelance" is therefore a definition, it is not a legal status per se. For example, freelancers can be Auto-Entrepreneurs or in company (SA, SARL ..). There are also specific statutes.
